‘I love to go to School, but my old backpack is torn, and my books get damaged in the rain. I wish
I
had a new school bag to keep my books safe and dry. A new school bag would be a dream come true
for
me.’
- A Child’s Voice
In the last week of August 2025, Punjab witnessed a tragedy of unimaginable scale. Relentless monsoon rains combined with dam overflows created floods that swept across villages, towns, and farmlands. Within hours, thousands of families were displaced, schools and hospitals were submerged, and fields that once fed communities were destroyed.
For lakhs of people, life changed overnight. Families who once lived in the security of their homes are now struggling to find food, clean water, and shelter. What was once a thriving land of farmers and workers has turned into a humanitarian crisis, where survival itself has become a daily challenge.
Kokan NGO has stepped forward in solidarity with Punjab during this humanitarian crisis. Known for its social service initiatives in Maharashtra and across India, the NGO is actively supporting relief efforts by providing:
✅Freshly cooked meals and ration kits for displaced families
✅ Hygiene kits and clean drinking water to prevent disease outbreaks
✅ Temporary shelters for those who lost their homes
✅ Medical support and essential supplies for children and elders
✅ Assistance in rebuilding homes and restoring livelihoods
