Social Credits and Student Success.

Article

Is it just a certificate for college submissions? The answer to the question must be: It’s not all about taking a certificate from the NGO; it’s about giving back to society and learning from social service to humanity.

How will this program help students?

Integrating social credit is a volunteer program that offers multifaceted benefits. Students will gain hands-on experience, enhancing their learning beyond textbooks. This program will cultivate empathy, teamwork, and leadership skills, fostering personal growth and confidence in students. Earning certificates for college social credit points validates their efforts, boosting self-esteem and motivation. Furthermore, society benefits from their contributions, addressing community needs and fostering a culture of service. The program instills values of responsibility and citizenship, shaping positive behavior changes that extend beyond the volunteer period. Ultimately, it equips students with practical skills, empathy, and a sense of purpose, enriching both their lives and the communities they serve. Additionally, students get the opportunity to work in a team, and they can gain working experience that they may use in their careers and jobs.

Do interns get paid?

Ideally, this is practical experience students are getting from their work and the opportunity to do good for society. Also, this is a two-way investment in terms of the NGO needing to invest their time and money in providing training and guidance to the students, so in such cases, interns should take it as voluntary work. But in some cases, Ngo pays small honorariums, TAs, etc. to students.

What benefits do interns get?

Internships are an excellent way to gain valuable experience and knowledge in a particular field. Interns at NGOs for education benefit from the opportunity to learn about the organization’s mission, gain work experience, develop skills, and network with professionals. Internships also provide interns with a chance to contribute to the organization’s success by providing valuable ideas and insights. Through this, interns can help shape the future of education and make a positive impact on society.

5 measures of the benefits of an internship

  • Gain real-world experience in the field;
  • Develop professional skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork;
  • Build relationships with professionals in the industry;
  • Learn about different cultures and ways of working.
  • Make a positive impact on society by contributing to an NGO’s mission.

Is it necessary?

Making social credit mandatory for college students encourages civic engagement, instills a sense of responsibility, and fosters community-mindedness. It cultivates a culture of service and empathy, preparing students to be active participants in society and equipping them with essential skills for personal and professional success.

Now a days, it’s very important for kids to understand the needs of society and how they can give back to it, not monetary but by doing field work, capacity building, coaching, training, and many more ways. In your internship period, you can often involve working with disadvantaged communities, providing support services, conducting research, developing educational material, or helping to raise funds for specific causes.

What are the benefits of volunteering at an NGO?

Volunteering for an NGO is a great way to make a difference in the world. It provides an opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to help those in need and bring about positive change. By volunteering with an NGO,  you can help improve access to education for people who are in need of it. You can also get involved with projects that work towards improving the lives of those living in poverty or facing other challenges due to a lack of resources. Through your volunteer efforts, you can be part of something bigger and contribute towards making the world a better place.
