Pitru Paksha (Shradh) is a holy time when families bow in devotion, remembering their
forefathers with prayers, offerings, and heartfelt gratitude. It is believed that during these days, the souls
of our ancestors visit the earthly realm to bless their descendants. Performing Shradh rituals, prayers, and
seva (selfless service) helps us fulfill our Pitru Rina – the debt we owe to our ancestors.
Among all offerings, Annadan – the donation of food – is considered the highest form of
worship. Just as our ancestors nurtured us, feeding the hungry during Pitru Paksha becomes a divine act of
remembrance and service.
Yet, even as we perform rituals at home, countless children, widows, and elderly across our
villages wait for a simple meal. This Pitru Paksha, let your devotion take the form of food donation – turning
prayer into nourishment, and remembrance into hope.

Our Mission
At Kokan NGO India, our mission is rooted in compassion and responsibility. We
hold the vision of a world where no child goes to bed hungry, no elder is forgotten, and no family
is denied the dignity of a decent life. Through food donation drives, especially during sacred
times like Pitru Paksha, we bring nourishment to the hungry and hope to the forgotten. For us,
feeding the needy is not just an act of charity—it is an offering of love, gratitude, and seva
that bridges generations.
Beyond food, our mission extends to empowering communities through education,
healthcare, and livelihood support. We ensure that children receive books along with their meals,
that widows and farmers find relief in difficult times, and that women gain skills to uplift their
families. By connecting the spiritual duty of Shradh and Annadan with social responsibility, we
aspire to create a compassionate society where remembrance of our ancestors transforms into
blessings for the future.
